Digital Dubai has launched “DigiPro”, an initiative designed to develop the capabilities of specialists in information and communications technology (ICT) across Dubai Government and to strengthen their readiness to deal with fast-moving technological changes and risks. The initiative is part of Digital Dubai’s role in enabling government digital transformation and building an integrated ecosystem of professionals who can apply technology efficiently and responsibly, supporting the continuity and resilience of government services and operations.

The “DigiPro” initiative is part of an integrated framework led by Digital Dubai to build and strengthen digital capabilities across the Government of Dubai. It focuses on empowering information technology and communications specialists responsible for designing, operating, securing, and enhancing the readiness of government systems and platforms for the future. The initiative aims to advance the specialized expertise of technical professionals by equipping them with practical knowledge, advanced tools, and best practices that enable them to effectively manage evolving technology and cybersecurity risks, and make more informed and impactful engineering and operational decisions. This, in turn, contributes directly to enhancing the quality, resilience, and continuity of government services.

The “DigiPro” initiative is aligned with the AI+ initiative launched by Digital Dubai, which aims to train 50,000 employees across the Government of Dubai to accelerate the adoption of emerging technologies, such as AI and enhance government workforce readiness for future demands. Together, these initiatives form part of an integrated approach led by the Digital City Management in Digital Dubai to harness AI across government operations, improve service efficiency, enhance quality of life, and strengthen Dubai Government’s readiness to navigate future digital transformations.

The initiative begins in September 2026 with a series of interactive webinars that bring together practical expertise, global practices, lessons learned and case studies, enabling ICT teams to keep pace with emerging risks, become familiar with controls and preventive measures, and apply best practices within their day to day responsibilities.

The topics covered by the initiative during 2026 include Digital Identity and the Zero Trust model, Third-party Risk Management, Secure Software Development, and business continuity, disaster recovery, backup management and Data Restoration.

The initiative targeted ICT practitioners and managers responsible for cybersecurity, application development, IT operations, network engineering and digital resilience, helping to build a broader base of capable government professionals equipped with the knowledge and tools to keep pace with technological developments and anticipate their challenges.
